Soukup Versa Max CNC Window Machining Centre

Soukup ·Timber Window & Door

The Versa Max takes a window or door component through drilling, mortising, lock pockets, hinge seats and tenon rounding in a single clamping, working from your window design data rather than settings dialled in at the machine. It suits workshops running mixed batches, where the joint positions change with every order.

Typically chosen by

  • Joinery workshops producing timber windows and doors in mixed batches, where sizes, hardware and joint positions change from order to order rather than running one profile at length
  • Businesses already designing in WinCreator or a comparable package, who want joint, hinge and handle positions taken straight from the design instead of re-entered by hand at the machine
  • Workshops that have outgrown drilling and mortising alone, and now need lock pockets, hinge seats, bevelled louvre mortises and tenon rounding completed in the same setup

See it run on your own material

Bring us a sample profile or board and we'll run it through the machine at our Newark showroom. You'll see the output quality firsthand and we can talk through how it fits your workflow - before any decisions are made.

Key specification considerations

Main Working Unit
5.6 kW, 0–24,000 rpm, tilting −10° to +90°
The tilt range covers vertical boring through to horizontal end work, so bevelled louvre mortises and angled joints are machined without moving the component to a second machine.
Tool Changer
Linear magazine, 5 positions, HSK 63F
Five tools held at the machine covers the drilling, mortising and lock pocket work on a typical window without the operator changing tooling mid-cycle.
Maximum Component Size
2,800 mm long × 100 mm thick
This covers the large majority of UK window and door sections — check your longest cill or frame member against it before specifying.
Drilling Units
Vertical unit 1.7 kW, 3 independent spindles; lateral unit 3-axis NC
The lateral unit is servo-driven on all three axes, so drilling schemas and tenon mortises change with the program rather than needing the component repositioned.
SpecificationValueNotes
Main Working Unit Power
5.6 kW
Main Spindle Speed
0–24,000 rpm
Main Spindle Tilt
−10° to +90°
Allows vertical, angled and horizontal machining from one head.
Tool Interface
HSK 63F
Tool Changer
Linear magazine, 5 positions, automatic
Vertical Drilling Unit
1.7 kW, 3 independent spindles
Maximum Drill Diameter
25 mm
Lateral Drilling Unit
3-axis NC, servomotor driven
Drills to any schema and mortises slots for tenons under program control.
Maximum Component Length
2,800 mm
Maximum Component Thickness
100 mm
Operations Supported
Dowel holes, mortise slots, door lock pockets, hinge seats, bevelled louvre mortises, front rounding of tenons, cross-machining
Workholding
4 adjustable pneumatic clamps
Clamps reposition along the bed so the component is held clear of the cutter across its full length.
Component Positioning
Pneumatic pins
Worktable
MDF board
Templates can be fixed directly to the table for special work such as pulley milling in sliding sash boxes.
Cross Tables
Machining of parts in pairs
Halves the number of load cycles where components are made as handed pairs.
Control Panel
15.6" touchscreen
Software
WinCreator; open to third-party packages
Construction joints, hinge and handle positions derive from the window dimensions and design, with macros storable in a template library.
Support Tables for Long Components
Optional
Vacuum Pump
Optional
Used to hold flat components such as panel doors that the side clamps cannot grip.
Extraction Cover for Disc Tool
Optional
Machine Dimensions
4,700 × 2,900 × 2,200 mm (per manufacturer layout — confirm with IWM)
Allow clearance beyond the footprint for component infeed, outfeed and operator access along the full length of the bed.
Machine Weight

Electrical Supply
Contact IWM to confirm
Phase and amperage determine whether a dedicated circuit is needed — confirm with your electrician before installation.
Compressed Air Requirement
Contact IWM to confirm
The clamps, positioning pins and tool changer are all pneumatic, so a supply of adequate capacity is needed.
Noise Level

Extraction Connection

Spigot diameter determines compatibility with your existing extraction ductwork.

Is this the right
machine for you?

Choose the Soukup Versa Max CNC Window Machining Centre if...

  • You produce timber windows and doors in mixed batches and want the joint, lock, hinge and louvre work finished in one setup rather than passed between machines
  • Your components sit within 2,800 mm long and 100 mm thick
  • You already work in WinCreator or a comparable design package and want machining derived from the design rather than programmed at the machine
  • You want to machine handed components in pairs on the cross tables to cut the number of load cycles

Consider an alternate model if...

  • Your components run longer than 2,800 mm or thicker than 100 mm — talk to us about the Soukup Wizard range, which is built for heavier sections
  • You need drilling and mortising only, without the tilting milling spindle and tool changer — the Soukup Versa covers that ground for less outlay
  • You want tenoning and profiling on the same machine as the boring work — the Soukup Wizard Tenon is built around a larger spindle for exactly that
  • Your work is mainly panel and nesting rather than window and door sections — the Soukup Spectra or a nesting router is the better fit
