Mortices
Morticers — sometimes called mortice machines — cut clean, square or rectangular holes in timber for traditional mortise and tenon joints. A square chisel and auger work together to give repeatable, accurate results that hand-cutting alone rarely matches for speed or consistency.
They are available in bench-mounted form for smaller or space-conscious workshops, and as heavier floor-standing models where throughput or timber section demands it. Common applications include door and window frames, staircases, and furniture framing — anywhere a strong mechanical joint is required.
If you are unsure which configuration suits your timber sizes, joint depths, or production volumes, talk to us. We are happy to help you specify the right machine without overbuying.
