Panel Saws
Panel saws — often called sliding table saws — are the standard choice for breaking down large sheets of timber, MDF, plywood, and similar panel materials cleanly and accurately. The sliding table carries the workpiece past the blade in a controlled, repeatable movement, which is what makes them so well suited to production work and batch cutting alike.
Most machines combine a main saw blade with a lower scoring blade. The scorer cuts a shallow kerf just ahead of the main blade, which prevents the face veneer or laminate from breaking out and leaves both faces of the panel looking clean. It is a straightforward feature, but one that matters a great deal when the finish of the cut is visible in the final product.
Panel saws are available across a wide range of sizes and specification levels — from compact, manually operated machines suited to smaller workshops through to larger format saws with programmable fences for higher-volume operations. Choosing the right size and configuration depends on your sheet sizes, output requirements, and the space available in your workshop.
