Double End Sizer C Type

Cuts both ends of a panel or board to finished length in one pass, with scoring and main saws at each head delivering clean, chip-free edges. Three model sizes — ECT-44C, ECT-64C, and ECT-84C — cover most joinery and panel shop formats up to 2450mm wide.

Typically chosen by

  • Joinery shops processing door blanks, cabinet carcasses, or panel components to consistent finished lengths
  • Workshops running medium-to-high volumes where hand-sawing both ends individually creates a bottleneck
  • Operations that need a dedicated sizing station with scoring and main saw on both ends to achieve clean, chip-free cuts

Key specification considerations

Max. Working Width
1300mm / 1850mm / 2450mm (model dependent)
Choose your model based on the largest panel format you regularly run — the ECT-44C suits most joinery shops, while the ECT-84C is needed for wide carcass or worktop work.
Feed Speed
5m/min standard (10m/min optional)
The optional 10m/min feed is worth specifying if throughput is a priority, but confirm your extraction system can keep pace at higher feed rates.
Max. Working Thickness
60mm
Machine Weight
2150kg / 2250kg / 2350kg (model dependent)
All three variants exceed 2000kg — floor loading capacity should be checked with your structural engineer before installation.

Feed Speed
5m/min standard (10m/min optional)
Distance Between Dogs
400mm standard (300mm / 200mm optional)
Shorter dog spacing allows smaller panel formats to be fed reliably without slipping.
Side Shifting System
Movable (motorised)
Motorised side shift makes width changes faster and more repeatable than manual adjustment.

Scoring Saw Motor
2hp standard (3hp / 5hp optional)
Scoring Saw Spindle Speed
3450rpm (60Hz supply — confirm UK 50Hz speed with IWM)
The published spindle speed is rated at 60Hz; the equivalent speed on a 50Hz UK supply will differ — confirm the correct figure with IWM before specifying tooling.
Scoring Saw Spindle Diameter
25.4mm standard (30mm optional)
Scoring Saw Blade Diameter

Main Saw Motor
5hp standard (7.5hp optional)
Main Saw Spindle Speed
3450rpm (60Hz supply — confirm UK 50Hz speed with IWM)
As with the scoring saw, this figure is quoted at 60Hz; confirm the 50Hz operating speed with IWM to ensure correct blade selection for your supply.

Electrical Supply
Confirm with IWM — phase and amperage requirements not stated in manufacturer source data
Phase and amperage must be confirmed before ordering to ensure your workshop supply and isolator are adequate for the combined motor load.

Is this the right
machine for you?

Choose the Double End Sizer C Type if...

  • You are sizing panels or boards to a fixed finished length repeatedly and need both ends squared or trimmed in a single machine pass
  • Your typical board width falls within the range of the ECT-44C (up to 1300mm), ECT-64C (up to 1850mm), or ECT-84C (up to 2450mm) — choose the smallest model that covers your maximum format
  • You need scoring saws on both ends to achieve clean, chip-free cuts on veneered or melamine-faced boards
  • You are processing enough volume that a dedicated inline sizing station would meaningfully reduce handling time compared to a single-end machine used twice

Consider an alternate model if...

  • You only need to work one end at a time or your volumes do not justify a double-end machine — the ECT-SET100 or Single End Grooving Machine ECT-C2 may be a more proportionate choice
  • Your primary requirement is tenoning or profiling for window or door joinery rather than panel sizing — the NC Type Automatic Double End Tenoner or ECT-Windotec Series is likely better suited
  • You are processing flooring strip rather than panels — the Tenoners For Flooring range is designed specifically for that material format and feed geometry
  • Your workshop floor space or access cannot accommodate a machine of this footprint and weight — talk to us about alternatives before committing
