Case Study - TK Joinery
TK Joinery (Blandford) Ltd, a Dorset joinery manufacturer with exacting production standards, was looking for a complete CNC window machining solution — tooling, software, and certification support all from a single supplier. After several years of researching the market, they found that solution through IWM, exclusive UK supplier of Soukup Machinery. Following installation of a Soukup Crafter CNC Window Machining Centre and a Soukup FP Window & Door Press, the firm achieved production time savings of more than 40% over their previous traditional joinery methods.
The Challenge
Works manager Chris Owen had spent several years researching the CNC window machinery market in search of a supplier who could provide a genuinely complete package — not just a machine, but the correct tooling for UK window profiles, dedicated window software, and compliance with BS 6375-1:2015 and PAS 24:2016. Finding all of those elements combined with the right level of specialist support from a single source proved difficult until TK Joinery made contact with IWM.
The Solution
IWM introduced TK Joinery to Soukup Machinery, whose UK Series CNC Window Centre range is designed specifically for the British joinery market. The Soukup Crafter CNC Window Machining Centre was supplied complete with Soukup-designed tooling certified to BS 6375-1:2015 and PAS 24:2016, alongside Soukup Wincreator window software — delivering the integrated package Chris had been looking for. A Soukup FP Hydraulic Frame and Sash Cramp was also included to support the assembly side of production. Before committing, Chris visited an existing Soukup installation to see the equipment working in a live production environment, giving him the confidence to confirm his order.
The Results
Following installation and training, TK Joinery achieved production time savings of more than 40% compared with their previous traditional joinery methods. The integrated nature of the Soukup system — with machine, tooling, and software all designed to work together — allowed the team to get up to speed quickly and begin realising those gains without lengthy process changes. Works manager Dylan's assessment of the Crafter was straightforward: the machine produces excellent windows consistently, and the team's confidence in it is evident.
